Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 1, 2026  ·  Last Updated: August 14, 2026

Your privacy matters. Bait Logic keeps as much on your device as it possibly can, and the one exception — the account data described below — exists only to back up your data and sync it across your own devices.

Overview

Bait Logic (“App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is stored, and your rights regarding that information.

As of August 2026, Bait Logic requires an account to use the App, and the fishing data you create — catch logs (including photos), saved spots, tackle boxes, recent searches, and your profile — is stored locally on your device and also synced to our servers so it's backed up and available if you use the App on more than one device. This account data is separate from, and unrelated to, our narrow opt-in email list: if you choose to join that list, your email address is additionally sent to our email service provider solely to send you Bait Logic updates (see Section 12, “Email Communications,” below). Section 3 explains exactly what account data is stored and why.

The App also connects to the internet for a small number of requests that don't depend on your account: fetching current weather for your selected state, and loading map tiles when you use the map. These requests do not include your name, profile, catch logs, or any other personal data.

Information We Collect

The following information may be entered into the App:

Section 3 explains which of this is stored only on your device versus also synced to our servers as part of your account.

Account Data and Cross-Device Sync

Every catch log (including photos), saved spot, tackle box, recent search, and profile detail (name, home state) is stored locally on your device first, and the App works fully offline using that local copy.

When you're signed in and have a connection, that same data is also synced to our servers, hosted through Supabase, our backend infrastructure provider, and tied to your account. This exists solely to back up your data and make it available when you sign in to the same account on another device — Supabase acts on our behalf to store it (a data processor, not an independent user of it) and technical access controls restrict each account's data so only that signed-in account can read or write it. We do not otherwise access, review, or use this synced data.

Uninstalling the App deletes everything stored locally on that device, but your account and its synced data remain on our servers until you request deletion — see Section 10, “Data Deletion.”

If you add the optional Bait Logic home screen widget, a small snapshot of your current conditions (temperature, condition, bite quality, barometric pressure trend, sunrise/sunset, solunar window, and nearby tide) is separately shared between the App and the widget using your device operating system's own on-device app-group storage (iOS) or app-widget storage (Android). That snapshot is never part of the account sync described above — it is never transmitted to us or any third party, and it is removed when you uninstall the App.

Support requests (Section 2) are handled separately from the account sync described above: when you submit the in-app Support form, it's written directly to our servers (also hosted through Supabase) as a support record we can review and respond to — it is not part of your synced catch logs/spots/etc. and does not sync back down to any device. Only we can read submitted support requests; technical access controls restrict every other signed-in account, including your own on a second device, from reading them back.

No Third-Party Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal information with any third parties for their own purposes. Your account data is shared only with the service providers that help us run the App on our behalf, not as independent users of your data:

The App also contacts two third-party services with anonymous requests unrelated to your account: Open-Meteo (to fetch weather for the state you selected) and OpenStreetMap (to load map tiles when the map is open). Like any internet request, these services technically receive your device's IP address, but no personal data, identifiers, or account information is sent.

The App does not include advertising SDKs, analytics platforms, or any third-party tracking tools that would collect your data.

Subscription and Billing

Bait Logic is free to use, with an optional Pro subscription — see our Terms of Service for price, length, auto-renewal, and cancellation details. If you subscribe, your purchase is processed entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play; we never see or store your payment card details, which are handled under Apple's or Google's own privacy policies.

To verify and sync your subscription status across your devices, we use RevenueCat, a subscription-management service. RevenueCat receives a device/purchase identifier and your subscription's status (active, in trial, expired, or cancelled) — not your name, email address, catch logs, photos, or any other App content — solely to determine whether Pro features should be unlocked on your account. This is entirely separate from, and never combined with, the account data described in Sections 2–3.

The App has no advertising SDKs in either tier, free or Pro — see Section 4.

Photo Storage

You can add a catch photo by taking a new one with your device's camera or selecting an existing one from your photo library — the App will ask for camera and/or photo library permission the first time, and you can decline and use the App without adding photos. If you choose to save a catch photo back to your device's photo library, the App uses the standard “save to photos” permission to do so.

Photos you add to your catch logs are stored locally on your device within the App's private storage and, once you're signed in, synced to our servers as part of your catch log for backup and cross-device access — see Section 3. Photos are never shared with any third party or accessible to any other app beyond that account sync, unless you explicitly export or share them using your device's sharing features — for example, using the Create Postcard feature to turn a catch photo into a shareable image and send it through Messages, Mail, or another app of your choice.

Location Data

With your permission, Bait Logic uses your device's location for on-device features: showing your current city on the dashboard, computing local sunrise/sunset times, and pinning your position when you save a fishing spot. You can decline the location permission and enter locations manually instead — all features still work.

Your location is processed on your device and stored only on your device (for example, as part of a saved spot). It is never uploaded to us or used for advertising or tracking. Weather lookups use only the state you selected in the app, not your GPS position.

Children's Privacy

Bait Logic is not directed at children under the age of 13, and account creation is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created a Bait Logic account or otherwise provided us with personal information, please contact us at 114estudios@gmail.com and we will delete it.

Data Security

Data stored locally on your device depends on your device's own security measures (such as screen locks, encryption, and device passcodes) — we recommend keeping your device secure and using the security features available on your operating system.

Account data synced to our servers (Section 3) is held with Supabase, which provides encryption in transit and at rest and restricts each account's data to that account alone. No security measure is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over the internet.

Data Deletion

Uninstalling the App permanently removes everything stored locally on that device — your profile, catch logs, photos, and preferences. It does not delete your account or the data synced to our servers (Section 3), since that data is designed to still be there if you reinstall the App or sign in on another device.

To delete your account and all associated data, use Delete Account in the App (Account tab → Profile Settings → Delete Account) — this permanently removes your account and its synced data from our servers immediately, in addition to wiping everything stored locally on that device. If you'd rather not use the in-app option, you can instead contact us at 114estudios@gmail.com and we will delete it for you.

Deleting your account does not cancel an active Pro subscription — subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google and must be cancelled separately through your App Store or Google Play account settings (see our Terms of Service).

Separately, if you opted in to our email list, your email address is held by our email service provider apart from your account, and deleting your account does not automatically remove it from that list. Unsubscribe using the link in any email, or contact us to have it removed (see Section 12).

Support requests you've previously submitted (Section 3) are also not deleted when you delete your account — we keep them as our own support records, the same way any support inbox would. Contact us at 114estudios@gmail.com if you'd like a previously submitted support request removed.

Your Rights

You can view and edit the data in your account within the App at any time, and export or share your data using the App's own export feature or your device's built-in sharing features. To access a copy of your account data or correct it, contact us at 114estudios@gmail.com — we will respond within 1–2 business days. To delete your account and its synced data entirely, use the in-app Delete Account option described in Section 10. If you've also opted in to our email list, that is a separate record held by our email service provider — see Section 12 for how to unsubscribe.

Email Communications (Optional)

Bait Logic may offer an optional email list for occasional updates, tips, or news. You only receive these emails if you affirmatively opt in — using the App never signs you up automatically, and declining has no effect on your ability to use the App.

If you opt in, your email address is used only to send these messages, shared only with our email service provider (acting on our behalf), and never sold or used for advertising targeting. It is not linked to your on-device catch logs, photos, or other App data.

Unsubscribe anytime using the link in any email, or by contacting us at 114estudios@gmail.com — we'll remove you promptly. Unsubscribing only affects the email list, not any data stored locally on your device.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and distributed in App updates. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
