Terms of Service

Effective Date: June 1, 2026  ·  Last Updated: August 14, 2026

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Bait Logic (“App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App. These terms apply to all users of the App.

Description of the App

Bait Logic is a fishing companion application that provides logic-based bait and rig recommendations based on user-supplied inputs such as fishing style, location, water type, and target species. The App also allows users to log catches, track fishing history, manage their angling profile, and export a catch as a shareable “postcard” image.

The App also uses your own logged catch history to refine future bait recommendations for you specifically — for example, giving a small preference to a bait you have personally caught fish on before, for a given species and water type.

The App also offers an optional home screen widget (iOS and Android) that mirrors a snapshot of your current conditions from the App. Adding the widget is entirely optional and can be removed from your home screen at any time using your device's own widget removal controls; it does not create a separate account or send any additional data to us beyond what Section 4 describes.

Find Public Water is a directory of public boat ramps, shore-access points, and similar fishing-access sites, bundled with the App from public sources (USGS, Recreation.gov, and state agencies — see Section 5 for the accuracy disclaimer covering this data) and browsable offline. If a site is missing, the in-app Support feature lets you submit a Fishing Spot Request asking us to add it — see the Privacy Policy for what's collected when you do — though submitting a request doesn't guarantee the site will be added.

User Accounts and Responsibilities

As of August 2026, Bait Logic requires an account to use the App. You create an account with an email address and password, or by signing in with Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google — in either case, your account is authenticated through our backend service provider, Supabase (see Section 4). If you sign in with Apple or Google, that step is also governed by Apple's or Google's own privacy policy for the information they share with us to complete sign-in (typically your email address and, on first sign-in only, your name if you choose to share it).

Your account exists so the App can back up your data and keep it in sync if you use Bait Logic on more than one device — see Section 4. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure, for the accuracy of your profile information, and for all activity under your account. You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

Joining our separate, optional email list for product updates and tips is unrelated to your account and requires its own affirmative opt-in — see Section 11, “Marketing Communications,” below.

Offline Functionality, Local Storage, and Account Sync

The App is designed to work fully offline for day-to-day use: your existing catch logs, reference pages, and recommendations remain available with no signal once you're signed in on a device. Every catch log, saved spot, tackle box entry, recent search, and profile detail you enter is stored locally on your device first.

When you have a connection, that same data — including any photos attached to a catch — is also synced to our servers, hosted through Supabase, our backend infrastructure provider, and tied to your account. This exists to back up your data and make it available when you sign in to the same account on another device. Supabase acts on our behalf to store this data (a data processor, not an independent user of it) and restricts each account's data so only that account can read or write it.

Uninstalling the App permanently deletes everything stored locally on that device, but your account and its synced data remain on our servers until you request deletion (see Section 9 of the Privacy Policy) or delete your account. We are not responsible for data loss resulting from device failure, accidental deletion, App uninstallation, or a sync that failed to complete before data loss occurred.

Bait Recommendations and Site Data — No Warranty

The bait and rig recommendations provided by Bait Logic are for informational and entertainment purposes only. They are based on general fishing knowledge and user-provided inputs. We make no warranty, express or implied, that any recommendation will result in a successful catch. Fishing results depend on many factors outside our control, including weather, water conditions, fish behavior, and angler skill. Always comply with local fishing regulations and licensing requirements.

Find Public Water's site listings (Section 2) are provided for informational purposes only, sourced from public data that may be outdated, incomplete, or inaccurate — a site's access status, permit requirements, hours, or existence can change without our data reflecting it. We make no warranty as to the accuracy or current availability of any listed site. Always confirm access, permits, and rules with the relevant local or state authority before you go.

User-Generated Content

You retain full ownership of all catch logs, photos, notes, and other content you create within the App (“User Content”). User Content is stored locally on your device and, once you're signed in, synced to our servers under your account solely to provide the backup and cross-device sync feature described in Section 4 — we do not access, review, or use your User Content for any other purpose, including training any product feature beyond the on-device recommendation refinement described in Section 2. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of your User Content and for ensuring it does not violate any applicable laws.

Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

Intellectual Property

The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by the developer and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The Bait Logic name, logo, and all related marks are proprietary. You may not use these without prior written permission.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Bait Logic or its developer be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or other intangible losses, arising from your use of or inability to use the App.

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Subscription (Bait Logic Pro)

Bait Logic is free to use. An optional “Bait Logic Pro” subscription unlocks additional features described within the App, currently priced at $2.99 per month or $30 per year, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. Pricing, included features, and trial availability are shown in the App before you subscribe and may change with notice.

Subscriptions are billed and processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play, whichever store you downloaded the App from — we do not process, see, or store your payment card details. Your subscription automatically renews for the same length and at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period; your payment method is charged for renewal within that 24-hour window. You can view, change, or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID or Google Play account subscription settings — we cannot cancel or issue a refund for a subscription on your behalf; refund requests are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies.

The App does not use ads in either the free or Pro tier. If you don't subscribe, you can continue using the free tier's features indefinitely, subject to the limits described in the App.

For iOS, these Terms are supplemented by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula), which governs your use of the App as distributed through the App Store.

Note: as of this Terms version, Bait Logic is in closed testing and subscription billing is not yet active for any user — every feature is currently available free of charge. This section describes how the subscription will work once billing is enabled; we will update the “Last Updated” date above when that happens.

Marketing Communications (Optional Email List)

Bait Logic may offer an optional email list for occasional product updates, tips, or news. You're only added if you affirmatively opt in — using the App never signs you up automatically, and declining has no effect on your ability to use the App.

If you opt in, your email address is used solely for these communications, shared only with the email service provider we use to send them, and never sold, rented, or used for advertising targeting. Unsubscribe anytime using the link in any email or by contacting us directly, and we'll remove you promptly.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and update the App accordingly. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in a competent court of jurisdiction.
